WACO (August 20, 2009)—An 18-year-old La Vega High School running back was in the McLennan County Jail Wednesday, charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another offense and with aggravated assault.
Bellmead police arrested Marcus Henderson Wednesday night after responding to a report of a break-in at the home of his girlfriend, who told officers earlier in the day she had been assaulted and threatened with a knife.
Wednesday night, a neighbor called police and said someone was breaking into the girl’s house.
Officers who responded found Henderson hiding inside, police said Thursday.
Henderson saw limited action last year.
He’s the second La Vega player to get in legal hot water this year.
In March, star La Vega High running back Christopher Dantae Parr, 17, was arrested for the fourth time in six months on a retaliation charge.
At the time of his arrest, he was free on $25,000 bond after he was charged with injury to a child in an attack on a 14-year-old boy.
The latest compliant stemmed from a threat that was made toward a teenager who did an interview with News 10 about the attack on the 14-year-old, who, according to an arrest warrant affidavit, was assaulted in February month at Parr’s home at 1127 Clover.
The 14-year-old suffered a contusion and a small laceration above his right eye and rib contusions in the assault, the affidavit said.
He was kicked while he was on the ground, the affidavit said.
Police arrested Parr in mid-January at La Vega High School without incident in connection with the break-in at an apartment at 800 Rambler in Waco in which shoes, jewelry, electronics and a pistol were taken.
Parr was charged last year in connection with the armed hold-up of Lonnie Sawyer, 19, who told police he was robbed around 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 23 in the 5200 block of Concord Road in Bellmead.
In November the McLennan County District Attorney's Office said the criminal complaint against Parr was dropped after the teenager passed a polygraph test.
Parr did not play during the regular season, but did take the field in four playoff games including La Vega's state title game loss to Prosper.

Let me start by saying i know the both of them. Ive known allishia for over six years now and i know everyone she has messed with and in 2006 she wasnt messing with the hole football team or any at that time. She was married with a one year old son. Her and her husban has been separated since january and yes her husban knows all about marcus and has even set down and talk to him before. Marcus has even when and eat with her mom and grandmother. it was also all over her myspace page. So how was she afraid of getting cought if there was nothing to get cought about. And what is real funny is everyone has something to say but TRUTH is he still wants her in his life and he knows what he did was wrong. he should have never put the knife to her nor should he have hit her. and yes he did hit her cuz i seen the bruises my self. He knows her passed and she knows his passed. So why dont everyone just leave them alone.
First off, let me begin saying Allishia and I have been very close friends for the longest. She has hardly messed with the whole football team. By 2006, she had her 1st child and her "playdays" were over. Allishia is married, however she has been separated since Jan 2009. Her husband has known about Marcus since then. So has her family. What does any of this have to do with what happened? NOTHING! She had no reason to worry about getting "caught up". Everyone knew! Allishia loved Marcus. She has even done her best to drop charges. I guarantee nobody knew that, did they? Yes, she did. Allishia nor Marcus EVER intended for any of this to happen. It's weird to me how no comments have been posted since 8/27/09, but now all of a sudden (SINCE HE IS OUT OF JAIL!), there are comments slandering her. Kind of suspicious. Sounds a little bit like RETALLIATION. Just leave the both of them ALONE! Yes, it will all come to the light! RUMORS DO NOT COVER UP BRUISES!
I been coaching this young man since he started high school and marcus would never do anything like this and so called allishia went to lavega and she used to messed with all of the football players in 2006 its ashamed a young man that had something going for himself its all put to shame because of some girl that was still married messing with another man and trying put someone away because she didnt want to get caught up and its is a big race thing if it was a white man it wouldnt have been such a big topic like it is she is in the wrong for messing with another man while she is married and that will all come to the light sounds to me like she set him up.
