(January 30, 2007)—The two soldiers who died when their helicopter crashed as they provided support to Iraqi forces Sunday during a major offensive against insurgents in Najaf were from Fort Hood, the military said Tuesday.

Capt. Mark T. Resh, 28, of Pittsburgh and Chief Warrant Officer Cornell C. Chao, 36, of California died in the crash Sunday.

They were both assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 4th Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade.
