WEST (August 24, 2009)--Traffic was still moving at a snail's pace at noontime Monday after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 35 near West.
One man was injured at about 11 a.m. Monday when he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding, which struck a culvert near mile marker 351, just south of the Farm-to-Market 1858 overpass.
Texas Department of Pubic Safety corporal Charlie Morgan told News 10 the man was by medical helicopter to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, in Waco, with undetermined injuries.
Morgan said the man was southbound on the highway when he veered out of his lane, drove over the rumble strips and lost control of the cycle, which ran into the culvert.
Traffic was stopped north of the accident site for about an hour but had started moving again by noon.
Morgan said, however, it could take some time for traffic to return to normal because so many vehicles were backed up so far.

The man in this accident was not Chris Gault. That was a different accident which happened off of Steinbeck Rd. This accident happened on IH-35 and the man is still in the hospital.
First I hope the motorcycle rider will be okay, And to Rider; Cen-Tex. Some trucks do run recaps on their trailers, but just call one of the local Tire Dealers and price a new set og truck tires(mounted and balanced). When you get the price on one tire, then multiply it by ten(Truck Tractor only). And then you may be able to understand about recaps on trailers and buses!! Because there are a 'lot' of Independent Owner-Operators that haul just about 'everything' you buy(food/clothing/gasoline/building products, etc., etc. And these Men/Women Truck drivers are just trying to make a living just like you are!!!
This young man (23 yrs.) died yesterday at the hospital. He was a wonderful person named Chris Gault, with the biggest heart and his family and friends will miss him dearly. R.I.P. CHRIS WE LOVE YOU!
