KILLEEN (August 25, 2009)—Ronnie Kernell Skidmore, 18, has been charged with burglary of a building in a break-in earlier this month at Mountain View Elementary School in Harker Heights, from which a 50-inch plasma television was stolen.

The burglary was reported on Aug. 11.

Two burglars got into the building through the loading dock area and footage from a security camera showed them carrying the TV out of the school, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

School staff members recognized one of the two shown on the surveillance video and identified him as Skidmore, the affidavit said.

His bond was set at $50,000.

Something is terribly wrong here! This kid's bond is set for $50,000 while the middle class white couple that killed and assaulted the couple from Bruceville-Eddy had their bonds set at $20,000 each. Do you really expect me to believe that this kid's theft problem is more of a threat to the public than that couple's murder and drunk driving problem? Plus, the boy is not as much of a flight risk as the middle class couple is. The two murderer's have the funds to hop on a plane or boat and be gone for good; if the boy runs, the best he could hope for is to hide in the woods for a few days until the cops find him. Sounds like this kid is of the wrong age, race, and income bracket.

Jazz... I am shocked both by your defense of a friend that quite obviously stole something, and by your poor writing skills. I am aware that life isn't picture perfect. There is no one who can say that their life has been. However, I am a firm believer in the phrase, "You're life is what you make of it." If a person values their life so little that they feel the need to steal, then they must be ready to accept the consequences of their actions. Why don't you demonstrate your friendship by helping him understand how wrong his actions were.
