KILLEEN (September 4, 2009)--Megan Ashley Ihander, 20, of Killeen, who was injured in a two-car crash earlier this week that left two people dead and two others injured, was in stable condition Friday in a Temple hospital after giving birth to a baby girl, Department of Public Safety Trooper Karl Pierce said Friday.

The baby was delivered at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday at Scott & White Hospital where Ihander is recovering from a broken ankle and broken hand she suffered in the accident Wednesday that claimed the lives of Brittanie Nicole McGhee, 18, and Chadwick Shane Wicks, 20, both of Killeen.

Courtney Camille Arnold, 18, Dominique Richardson, 19, both of Killeen, were also injured in the accident, which occurred at around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Chaparral Road and Soukup Lane in Killeen.

Ihander was westbound in a Mazda 626 when a Honda in which the other four victims were riding topped a hill and skidded into oncoming traffic.

Ihander’s car struck the rear of the Honda, which rolled several times and landed upside down in a field with its four occupants trapped underneath.
