Locks Changed At Anna Nicole’s Mansion
A battle of sorts was underway Sunday in the Bahamas over ownership of the mansion in which one-time Mexia resident Anna Nicole Smith was living with her infant daughter before her death in Florida.

(February 11, 2007)—Anna Nicole Smith's lawyer says the former playmate's infant daughter and the baby's purported father have reclaimed the Bahamas mansion where they lived before Smith died.

The ownership of the home is in dispute.

Smith had claimed that a former boyfriend, US developer Ben Thompson, gave her the house.

He says the house was only on loan, and he had the locks changed after Smith's death last week.

But Smith's lawyer says Howard K. Stern, one of the three men who claim to be the baby's father, is again at the home.

Attorney Wayne Munroe told The Associated Press that the baby girl is also there.

An AP Television News reporter also saw Smith's mother enter the house.

Munroe says the house now belongs to Stern.

Thompson was embroiled in an ownership dispute with the 39-year-old celebrity before she died Thursday in Florida.

Thompson's attorney, Godfrey Pinder, says Smith's death means her claims to the mansion are no longer legitimate, but Smith’s attorney says the former Playboy playmate bought the mansion in July for $900,000.

Smith had filed a lawsuit asking a Bahamas court to recognize her purchase and reject Thompson's claim.

Smith’s attorney says the Bahamas Supreme Court has scheduled a Feb. 26 hearing on the matter.

Meanwhile there was word Sunday that Smith may have used the frozen sperm of her late husband, J. Howard Marshall, to become pregnant.

That's what the late celebrity's half-sister tells the New York Daily News.

Questions have swirled about the paternity of Smith's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, since Smith's death.

Smith's boyfriend and attorney, Howard K. Stern, and a former companion, Larry Birkhead, have both claimed to be the child's father.

Investigators say it could take a number of weeks to determine what killed the former model.

Her fans have been using the Internet to express their condolences.

Mourners have posted messages on Facebook, watched and produced videos on YouTube, and have even used Craigslist to organize a candlelight vigil in New York.
