One Man In Custody In Deadly Waco Drive-By Shooting

WACO (September 16, 2009)--Quinton Henry, 25, of Waco, who was wanted in a deadly drive by shooting, turned himself in to police in Carrollton Tuesday.

He’s one of three men Waco police are seeking in the shooting death of Carnelyuis Fields, 20, on Saturday.

Fields was shot and killed just after 1 p.m. Saturday as he stood in the 1500 block of N.9th St.

When officers and emergency personnel arrived they found Fields, who had suffered several gunshot wounds to his upper body, lying in the street.

Jamie Toney, 19, of Waco and a LaToya Hamilton, 24, also of Waco, were wounded in the shooting as well, said Waco police spokesman Steve Anderson.

Toney told investigators he was walking with Fields at the time of the shooting and was shot in the leg.

Hamilton was an innocent bystander and was grazed across her shoulder.

Both Toney and Hamilton were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and were later released.

Fields died at the hospital.

Justice of the Peace Billy Martin ordered Fields body to be sent to Dallas for autopsy.

Witnesses told officers a green suburban driven by a black male with two Hispanic male passengers also inside, pulled up and one of the Hispanic males fired several shots at Fields

Authorities are searching for Joe Angel Felan, 22, of Waco, in connection with the shooting.

The third man has not yet been identified.
