A massive water main break Friday flooded a suburban town and forced some residents to take to boats to escape the rising water.

BALTIMORE (September 18, 2009)—A 72-inch water main broke Friday near Baltimore, flooding an entire suburb and forcing some residents to take to boats to escape the rising water.
The water was waist-high in some areas, and rescue crews were dispatched to help residents who were stranded by the flooding, which left vehicles submerged up to their door handles.
No injuries were reported.
