Fort Hood Pilots Suffer Minor Injuries In Hard Landing Monday
The pilot and copilot of an AH-64 Apache helicopter received minor injuries Monday in a hard landing near the post’s East Range Road.

FORT HOOD (September 21, 2009)—The pilot and copilot of a 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment AH-64 Apache helicopter received minor injuries late Monday afternoon in a hard landing near East Range Road at Fort Hood.

The two pilots, who are from the 3rd ACR’s 4th Squadron, were taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center for treatment.

The crash was reported at around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Fort Hood’s Emergency Operations Center confirms that crews were still at the scene of the hard landing Monday evening.

The circumstances that led to the hard landing are under investigation, Fort Hood said Monday evening.

The helicopter pictured is a UH-60 Blackhawk, used mainly for transport and rescue. Of course, to civilians, a helicopter is a helicopter is a helicopter... The AH-64 Apache is an attack chopper. Death from above!
