The images these soldiers brought are of the front line in Iraq. They were captured by Army Sergeants William Armstrong and Louis Lazaara. They're part of a Combat Camera Company attached to the 101st Airborne Division. Their job is to document the war their fellow soldiers are fighting.

Tuesday they shared some of their work with Air force ROTC students at Baylor University.

Armstrong said, "It gives a good first hand account of this is what you'll be doing, either on the front lines taking pictures of guys on patrol or you could be with the same guys the next day handing out books at a school."

Lazzara said, "For me, behind the camera I'm making history. I'm taking pictures of the future and the history and what's gonna change the war as far as how we fought it now."

The soldiers documented all aspects of the war. From the fierce fighting at the beginning, to the sometimes-violent reconstruction period that followed.

Student Alex Mercer said it was refreshing to see the positive side of the efforts of the thousands of U.S. troops in Iraq.

Mercer said, "It’s kind of nice to see what's really going on and the good things we're doing over there."

But some of the images are scary. This video is in memory of those who will never make it home.

Mercer said, "It's kind of scary, but it's something that you have to face when you put on the uniform. You know it's something you'll probably have to get into at one way or another."

A reminder, straight from the front line, that freedom isn't free.
