Local Jail Guard Who Married Inmate Fired, Then Arrested

MARLIN (September 29, 2009)—A female guard employed by a private firm that provides security at the Falls County Jail was fired after officials discovered she had married a male inmate by proxy.
Community Education Centers Warden, Mike Wilson said Chastity Withers, who worked for CEC as an overnight guard at the Falls County Jail, was married by proxy on Aug. 23 in McLennan County to Timothy Hargrove, 31, an inmate who was jailed at the time and who was sentenced this month to 30 years in prison after his conviction on charges of manufacturing of a controlled substance.
Wilson said confidential sources led to an investigation and to the discovery of the relationship.
Withers was arrested on Friday and charged with prohibited items and substances in a correctional facility.
The charge involves a cell phone, but Wilson declined to release more details.
She was later released from the jail where she used to be a guard after posting a $1,000 bond.
CEC and the Falls County Sheriff's Office are continuing their investigation.

chasity takes very good care of her kids they are always happy. u people have no clue... Just somthing else to talk about. They have known each other their whole lifes no body mentioned that and u will see they will remain together for a very long time.. she might have been a sergeant and him an inmate but they are still human.
