Elderly Woman Injured In Accident With 18-Wheeler
Traffic was moving slowly on Loop 340 after an accident sent one woman to the hospital.

ROBINSON (September 29, 2009) - An elderly woman was injured in an accident involving an 18-wheeler truck Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened on South Loop 340 in Robinson at about 12:30 p.m.

Police said a 73-year-old woman suffered a compound fracture of the leg when her vehicle rear-ended the 18-wheeler.

She was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for treatment.

She is my gramdma and she is a really safe driver. I love her and she is having surgery tonight. But it has nothing to do with cell phones cause she doesnt ever use hers.

Yes I agree that light needs to go or install a warning system that the light is fixing to change, also it is especially hard to get a loaded 18 wheeler stopped when its traveling at the posted speed through there when it starts turning colors when your almost to the light you have no choice but to go.

I attended a week-long seminar put on by TxDOT about highway safety and they drilled it into us that there are no car 'accidents', only crashes. ALL crashes can be prevented - lower speed, drivers being more careful, not texting/talking on cell phone while driving, not driving under the influence, etc.
