TEMPLE (September 29, 2009)—Scott Porter, 40, of Temple was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to meet requirements upon striking a fixed object after a late night hit-and-run crash Monday night in which a van slammed into an apartment.
The apartment at the Bridge Apartments at 404 Fryer’s Creek Dr. was heavily damaged in the crash just before midnight Monday.
City of Temple Construction Safety inspectors later determined it’s unsafe for occupancy because of the structural damage.
The residents were reportedly home at the time, but no one was hurt.
Witnesses told officers that after the van crashed into the apartment, the driver backed up and drove off, police said.
Officers found the van a short time later on South 31st Street.

Maybe the charges need to be up graded to attempted murder like other States are doing to drunk drivers!! I'll bet he did not have any liability Insurance either!!!
It was an accidental 'crash'.
