PASADENA (September 30, 2009)--A Houston-area woman who evidently was steamed at her former common-law husband fried their pet goldfish and ate some of them.
Pasadena police, however, say it's a civil matter and say no charges will be filed.
The couple purchased the seven goldfish during happier times, police said.
Police spokesman Vance Mitchell said the man reported on Saturday the woman took the goldfish from his apartment.
Mitchell says the two earlier argued about some jewelry he had given her and then taken back.
She evidently wanted the jewelry returned.
Officers were dispatched to the woman's home and arrived to find four fried goldfish on a plate.
The woman said she had already eaten the other three.
