HELOTES (October 2, 2009)--A Texas couple riding a bicycle built for two died after their tandem cycle was struck by a pickup in northwest Bexar County.
Sheriff's Deputy Ino Badillo identified the victims as Gregory Bruehler, 42, and his wife, Alexandra Bruehler, 36.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
He died later at a hospital.
Badillo says the Bruehlers were peddling south on Texas 16 when a pickup driven by Gilbert John Sullaway Jr. of Helotes struck them from behind.
Investigators believe Sullaway, 40, lost control of his truck, overcorrected and hit the tandem bicycle.
Badillo said the wreck morning to have been an accident and no charges are likely.

if you are paying attention to the road & conditions, you don't "lose control". he needs to be taught to be aware. take his a** to jail.
Charge him. This is negligent homicide. Two counts. I sure don't want to be riding or driving with this bozo behind the wheel.
Legal, right or wrong, this is why I still argue as to whether bicycle riders should ride facing the traffic, or with their backs to the traffic. Very sorry for the deaths.
