WACO (October 2, 2009)—Dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice were brought in Friday as Riesel police and McLennan County sheriff’s deputies searched for a burglary suspect.
The search started Friday after a burglar kicked in the rear door of a house in the 400 block of South Fair Park Road.
It’s not clear if anything was taken.
The residents weren’t home at the time, authorities said.
Authorities thought the burglar may have escaped on foot and discovered footprints in the area.
The dogs were used to search the area where the prints were found, but the effort came up empty.
Authorities now think the burglar drove off after the break-in.

McLennan County Sheriffs Dept. was real scarce in this video and the little toy helicopter was not seen or heard. If the Sheriffs Dept, thought so much to send the little toy helicopter on a photo op mission to the Elm Mott puppy mill then why was it not at this location of a real crime? Not enough cameras around? Riesel PD seemed to be on top of their job. Thank the Lord somebody cares about rural folks.
