Looks as if the victims family has already been dealing with heartache. I for one, would not be bothered if the victims family chose self vindication to handle this matter. My prayers are with the victims family...as for the ghetto scum...seems as if your days may be numbered you worthless low life trash!

To "worth it" and all others who complain about the Waco officer "chasing" the bad guy. #1 show me in the story where it states the officer gave chase. #2 take note on the FACT that Waco P.D. has a very strict chase policy and rarely take pursuit of anyone that has not commited a felony. As for those who think that the bad guy did not get charged correctly: If you read the penal code and compare Criminally negligent homicide and evading-causing the death of another; You will find that the clssification is the same (2nd degree felony). Rather than complaining that the officers did something wrong or that the guy didn't see justice, try something productive, like educating yourself.

I used to live in Waco too and I agree with Mark. It is one big ghetto. I don't have a reason why, but I went to Waco High and can tell you that the in thing was to be ghetto. I choose the small town life over that dump everyday. I hope that dude bonds out and kills some other drug dealer tomorrow. I don't care how they die, as long as they are off the streets.

I think the driver should have a long list of charges filed against him, including murder!!!

This "low life" individual, upon arrest and booking, most likely told the detective where the drugs came from and who was selling them in exchange for a little leniency. This type of thing goes on all the time in law enforcement and correctional enviroments. When a perp is facing serious charges, they will usually give the police information on other crimes in exchange for less jail time or other benefits. This is how informants are cultivated. This perp will still face serious charges for this but it won't be a charge such as 1st degree murder. It will likely be something like negligent homicide, such as a DUI induced fatal accident is. This perp is still looking at 5 to 15 years of aggravated time in prison on account of causing this fatality while committing another crime. In the big picture view of this, there will most likely be a series of drug-related arrests being made in that area over the next few weeks. Unfortunately, it takes a small fish to catch big fish.

Yeah thanks,Waco used to be my home for all my life but I got tired of how Waco has turned into a giant GHETTO I guess thats because its the IN THING there are no decent jobs there and it makes me mad because I enjoyed living in WACO.

Ok,the guy got charge with hit and run and drugs, of coarse the cops not going to charch the guy with murder right now, because if they do, The cops might be blame for chasing the guy causing him to hit the victim. Yes it's all about the money first, and then they will slam the guy later.

Why even bother chasing him if he is going to get such a low bond for killing him. Maybe the victim's family should find him, run him down, and bond out too.

A man is DEAD because Waco Police decided to "chase" a speeder for the sake of a ticket. Was it worth it Waco PD? Waco PD put the public at risk and caused the death on a bicycle-rider........all for the sake of a silly traffic ticket.

I came to this site unsure of what to write. I have decided that instead of lecturing I will just post facts. I am the nephew of the victim. He always loved to ride his bike around instead of utilizing a car and we always gave him hell for it. What meaningless? I love life and always looked forward to the day that he would be resolved of his problems... but that will never happen. He's dead. And I refuse to let any member of my family die without meaning. I hold an oath to my uncle that this man, this overall metaphor of all that is atrocious in a person, will NEVER escape his rightful justice with a meaningless buyout and I'll never sleep until Mr. Cain fulfills the full consequences of his actions. Mr. Congressman, here I come!

Why was this man able to be bonded out of jail?? Anybody's guess! You can run from the cops and kill a pedestrian and then bond out!! Figure that...all about money!!
