WACO (October 15, 2009)—The Waco-McLennan County Public Health District will have a supply of the seasonal FluMist vaccine available for a drive through flu vaccination clinic on Friday Oct. 23, using the last shipment of the seasonal flu vaccine the health district expects to receive this year.

The drive through clinic will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the parking lot of the Waco Charter School at 615 N. 25th St.

Eligible children, adolescents and adults less than 49 years of age can get the FluMist vaccine.

It cannot be administered to those with asthma or other lung conditions, anyone who has been treated for wheezing in the past year, pregnant women, anyone with a compromised immune system and anyone older than 49.

Yeah, listen to Jennica. I am sure her vast wealth of medical knowledge is comparable to a doctor's. Do you even understand how vaccines work? Or why the mist should not be used for the reasons you copy/pasted? Tell you what, you just opt out. More for everyone else. No harm to you, what's your problem with anyone else getting the mist/shot?

Well as a patient of Scott and White, I would like to personally thank them for my flu shot. They had advertised it in the paper for you NEWS readers (hint: Frank) that they were holding a walk in flu clinic. A walk in clinic that were even held on Saturday and SUNDAY! (What more do people want??) I would consider it a blessing for those who worry about taking off of work or taking their kids out of school. I can see with the worry of the swine flu why EVERYONE (not just s&w) is running out. The Waco Health Dept. just mentioned this will probably be their LAST SHIPMENT. Put blame on yourself if you haven't received it, and blame on the swine flu because of the impact and scare it has on people. I bet more people have received the regular seasonal flu vaccine this year, that normally don't receive it.
