Train Kills 22-Year-Old Texas A&M Student Friday
A train struck and killed a 22-year-old Texas A&M student early Friday morning in College Station.

COLLEGE STATION (October 16, 2009)—A Texas A&M senior died early Friday morning when a train struck him on Wellborn near Old Main in College Station.

Officers arrived at around 2 a.m. Friday to find the train stopped and the victim on the tracks beneath it.

The victim was identified as Patrick Noel Jernigan, 22, of Cleveland, Texas.

He’s listed on A&M's Web site as an industrial distribution student.

Texas A&M University Police and College Station Police are investigating.

no, he was a pedestrian. there was no car involved. we are all very sad for this loss...patrick was an honor roll student, a fantastic person, and more importantly, a loving and responsible father. we all miss you patrick...RIP

I am so sorry to hear of this loss. Wow... umm did the car stall on the tracks or did I miss something? Well, I'm sorry for the family, friends and Texas A&M University for their loss of this son and friend and student. God Bless!!!
