Texas Teenager Sentenced In Mother’s Stabbing Death

ROANOKE (October 19, 2009)--An 18-year-old from Roanoke was sentenced to 60 years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to murder in the stabbing death of her mother.

A Denton County official told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Jennifer Bailey must serve at least 30 years before she is eligible for parole.

After Susan Bailey was stabbed to death last year in her home in Roanoke, Jennifer Bailey fled to South Dakota with her boyfriend and younger brother.

The boyfriend, Paul Allen Henson Jr., was sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty plea to murder.

Assistant prosecutor Jamie Beck said Bailey’s brother, who was 13 at the time of the stabbing, faces a capital murder charge in the juvenile system.

The teenager will not face the death penalty.
