DENVER CITY (October 20, 2009)—The search continues for a 3-year-old Texas boy who’s been the focus of an Amber Alert since he was discovered missing last week from the home where his mother was found dead.

Authorities think Mitchell Romero is with his father.

The boy was discovered missing just after 6 p.m. Thursday from the home in Denver City where his mother, Veronica Esquivel Romero, 29, was found dead.

The cause of the woman’s death is under investigation, police said.

The boy is 2-foot-8, weighs about 35 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

He’s believed to be with Mario Romero, 34, who’s driving a maroon 2004 GMC Yukon.

Mario Romero is 5-foot-7 and weighs about 205 pounds.

He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Denver City Police Department at (806) 592-3516.

Denver City is southwest of Lubbock in Yoakum County.

She was murdered first of all. She was found strangled to death in her home...and a father who will murder his wife and who has been arrested for domestic abuse in the past does not care about his family. In fact he left another son behind when he left.
