as a student that has been directly affected by this i personally believe that none of yall have the right to say that navarro hasnt done their job. i was on campus the moment they found out and everyone was locked down within minutes. unless you were here or directly affected by this situation i believe that you should learn the whole story, not the media version, before you begin to blame anyone or tell people who should be sued. Navarro College had nothing to do with this shooting, the students just happened to go here, not our fault. NC did everything possible to protect their on campus students which is always their main concern. I have relied on our campus police many tmes and they have never let me down. CPD and NC police pride themselves on safety and did everything possible. I really beleive that no one has a right to say anything without getting all of the facts and the real story. you deal with something like this as a 19yr old college student then we will talk.

Has no one stopped and really read this? They were all students at NC it happen at in the Early Evening it wasn't even dark yet.. It wasn't a robbery.. I love how everyone believes everything they read.. The shooter and his crew Banged on the door who can it be a robbery if you knock on the door? he you know who you are robbing and you just go up and knock on the door does that really make it a robbery? Nothing was taken they didn't even get inside the house the shooter shot from the door way.. I am so sick of all of this no one want to address what is really the issue here. Why do things always have to get so messed up why do the cops try to cover it up? I agree Navarro did a really good job but the Corsicana Police I have to question. And if they have eyewittness why no arrests? Why is this young man fighting for his life and no one is doing anything for him? This just makes me so sick.

As a parent of a Navarro College Student, the NC campus police & faculty handled the situation very well.No one was hurt on campus. The watchdog system they have in place worked just as it should have. All this happened off campus at an apt complex. If anything the apt complex should have patrol available. I applaud the Campus & local police for their efforts to protect our children.I personally have talked to the officers & they are truly there for the students. Great Job Navarro College Staff/Faculty/Police. The system is tried & true. Keep up the good work.

Thugs probably wanted something to use for drug money... good job to all law enforcement agencies that asssisted in responding and apprehending the suspects.

So would allowing students to carry have prevented this? Probably, as Cracker said they know these students are unarmed, so they are easy targets. Criminals don't want confrontation, they wany easy prey as they are gutless. Depend on your beliefs to protect you in an armed robbery. i will depend on Smith & Wesson.

well rachel, you dont think that allowing concealed weapons on a college campus would DETER such robberies from happening? if this wouldve been the invaders being shot, there would be no sympathy.

This is to Cracker: WHY could they not defend themselves? They apartment was off campus and didn't belong to Navarro College.. It's up to you if you want a gun in your house or not. Navarro College didn't do anything to spark this. I see this as a total off campus issue. Navarro College has nothing to do with it.

Why should the victim sue Navarro College? He was shot at his OFF campus apartment. After learning this, the college tried to protect the night students ON campus since the shooting happened nearby. There is a law prohibiting guns on school campuses. The thugs and everyone already knows that. If you are lawsuit happy, then sue the apartment complex, or aquaintances and/or shooters. I hope he makes a full recovery and that the 4th shooter is apprehended soon.

As a parent of one of the students on that campus, Navarro College did right. Cracker I guess you hadn't attend college because this can happen anywhere. Remember Virginia Tech? I do. College is totally different from being in High School. Campus is open basically to the public to visit. It's not NC's fault that this happen. It's the element/people that were involved that did this. Think about it. The suspects were caught on the campus except for one.

I pray for this young man and his recovery. In response to Rachel, do you really think the crime rate is going to dramatically increase in allowing students to carry concealed weapons? These boys that did the shooting were not upstanding law abiding citizens. I wish people would realize that in constricting gun ownership laws only puts the law abiding citizens in harms way because it's not going to deter the criminals. They are going to get their guns one way or another.

Wow! We haven't heard two words from this college in several years. Now all of a sudden we have two lockdowns in two days! Remarkable!

Sounds like Navarro College has a really great emergency alert system in place for its students and faculty. Having a really sound alert system could save many lives. Good for Navarro College. Hope they apprehend the fourth suspect quickly.

These punks knew these students would not be able to defend themselves because of the gun phobia the administration displayed during the crowbar incident. They knew from the reaction that guns were not allowed on campus. If Mr. Blair survives, he should sue Navarro College for unnecessarilly putting him at risk with their naive attitude.
