CAMERON (October 23, 2009)—Speed may have been a factor in a fiery early-morning one-car crash in Cameron that claimed the life of Sigfrid, Mayer, 28, who recently moved here from Anchorage, Alaska.
Cameron police said the accident happened at about 12:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of 4th Street and Milam on the north side of the city.
Mayer evidently lost control of the car, which crashed into a tree and burst into flames.
Witnesses told officers that because of the fire, they were unable to rescue the Mayer, who was alone in the car.
Milam County Justice of the Peace O.C. Dunsmoor, of Cameron, pronounced Mayer dead at the scene at 1:08 a.m.
He did not order an autopsy.

I really hate to continue to read/hear about these young people that are being killed in vehicle accidents because they simply will not slow down.
