(March 22, 2007)—A federal grand jury Thursday indicted a woman accused of kidnapping a newborn from a Lubbock hospital.

Twenty-one-year-old Rayshaun Parson of Clovis, N.M. faces one count of kidnapping over the March 10 abduction of the days-old girl.

Mychael Darthard-Dawodu was found unharmed the following day in Clovis.

Surveillance footage from Covenant Lakeside Hospital showed a woman wearing hospital scrubs and a puffy jacket with a hood walking out of the complex.

The woman carried a purse as she went past an un-staffed information desk.

Parson is held at the Dickens County Correctional Center without bond.

A defense attorney wants Parson to be allowed to travel to California to receive treatment at a psychiatric facility near where relatives live.

Also, US District Judge Sam Cummings on Tuesday issued a gag order on the parties involved in the case.
