(March 26, 2007)--Saying the Vietnam Veterans Memorial "separated the war from the warrior," Republican Senator Chuck Hagel helped mark the 25th anniversary of the groundbreaking for the site.
As a tribute to the landmark events that took place 25 years ago, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund has scheduled a full day of ceremonies and activities.
Republican Senator John Warner of Virginia and Former Republican Senator Charles Mathias of Maryland also spoke.
They championed the legislation that ultimately set aside land on the National Mall for a memorial.
