New York Newlywed Sentenced In Murder Of Texas-Born Wife
A New York man received the maximum sentence in the Thanksgiving Day murder of a 28-year-old Texas woman who vanished 24 days after the two were married, just weeks after what was described as a troubled honeymoon.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 30, 2009)—Byron Drennan, 37, has received a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison in the Thanksgiving Day 2008 murder of a Texas woman to whom he had been married for just 24 days.
Stefanie Casey, 28, of Carrollton was bludgeoned and stabbed to death.
The two met in the Dallas area in August 2008, moved to upstate New York after losing their jobs and got married on Nov. 3 in Williamson, N.Y.
Weeks after their troubled honeymoon, they were staying at the home of his parents when Casey vanished.
Searchers found her body on Nov. 29 buried on a rocky Lake Ontario beach.
Drennan had been charged several times with assaulting Casey, most recently during their weeklong honeymoon in Hawaii.
