It really doesnt matter if the 15 year old was willing and said yes, in Texas, she is not old enough to make that call. She does not have the wisdom at that age to make grown up choices. Lots of boys and girls at that age may think they know what they are doing, but the truth is, they DONT. They didnt even have to have sex, just kissing is enough to get the boy in a lot of trouble. Parents read up on the laws, make sure there is not more than 3 years age difference between the kids. That makes a huge difference.

Mom, you can teach kids to wait all you want, but when those hormones start raging, all sense, common or otherwise, goes right out the window. I guess you could lock them up in the house, home school them, and not let them out until they reach the age of consent. That is if you want to go to jail for child abuse.

So how do we solve this "he said - she said" problem? Teach our kids that sex is something that should be saved for marriage - not using it as a play-toy, something to do, hormones out of control or revenge. Yeah, I know I'm gonna get blasted by folks for this, but how many problems would this solve - by teaching kids it is best to wait to have sex - teenage pregnancies, STDs, AIDs, false accusations, etc? Just sayin'.

To Tristan: You need to go to the investigators... the way things are here in Texas, the judge and jury will believe, hook line and sinker, everything this girl tells them. If it turns out to be a false allegation, rest assured nothing will happen to the girl... I am sure she will be looked upon as being just a misunderstood child... although, in my humble opinion, she should be locked up for doing such things..... Girls that cry rape must be given consequences if all they are doing is telling lies to get back at a former boy friend or whatever

Did anyone stop to think that maybe the girl got "caught" doing something she wasnt supposed to be doing??? And to keep herself out of trouble she cried "wolf"....I'm just sayin'.......

To Hmmmmmm, If you read the arrest warrant was issued in July, but he was just found and arrested. What do you think, the warrant cannot be issued before the arrest? Guess you are as dumb as you sounded in your comment.

There is more to this story. Actually the teenage girl is making it more than what it is. I was there and is willing to give answers if this case needs investigation.

Rachel, YOU SAID IT! I think all of these comments are right on! These guys need to leave the girls alone, regardless. Does this kid realize he will be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life? He is now labeled by society and there is NOTHING he can do about it. I am guilty of the labeling myself. If I catch wind someone is a sex offender, I keep that train of thought. Why? Because I have a teenage daughter and I feel that even considering what is reported is true, I am doing my part to protect her. This kid was accused of it and went to jail for it.Some part of her story had to be true..it's sad, but I admit what most won't. Thought I would throw that out there..

... and what if the girl fibbed about it? Maybe he is the one who said "no".... These days the accusation itself is enough for an arrest and the attendant costs, social and financial... with no proof whatsoever and that's the true cost.

I can't believe allows cases like this. She waited this long to tell someone?. I bet my life on it she was a willing participant. She probably dated him and something went wrong and now she's getting him back. GUYS! stay away from this underage girls they are nothing but trouble. Are they really worth ruining your life? NOT. Some parents allow their underage daughters to date an older teen and when something goes wrong they press charges. In cases like that, the law should go after the girl's parents. This incident sounds too fake, I bet there's more to the story. I hope this girl is telling the truth and not getting back at this boy for something stupid. The bottom line, any guy over 18 needs to stay away from underage girls even if they have the girls permission to date her. This girls are not worth truble, date girls 18 & older. I have a 16 year son and I make sure he doesn't even hang around with girls that are younger than him, to avoid situations like this.

Yeah right it's all his fault--he's 18 and she's 15.She got in trouble when Daddy found out his little girl is sexually ative. I would not want to be on this jury. I would have a hard time placing the blame only on the 18 yr old. She is also at fault I'm sure and now this "young man" is going to have his life ruined. He is nothing more than a teen himself. How many of you out there have a 3 year age difference between husband and wife? Who knows they are both probably in high school together. Sure hope the girls dad will reconsider this mess. Maybe he better look back to his past and see if it is pure as the driven snow. He was 18 once too. This same experience probably happened to most men while in high school or at the same age so people should be careful when it comes to this sort of accusation. Guys just stay a virgin till you get married.

How many men's lives have been ruined because a teenager came onto them and when they rejected them they cried rape or anything else that would get the guy in trouble? Our McLennan county DA's charge everyone regardless of the evident and will not strike a deal with them. It's a numbers game. So when election time comes...it's: "Look how many sex offenders we put away!" How many of those were innocent?

This whole thing sounds fishy to me. The number of girls under the age of consent turning in boys has skyrocketed. I think girls and boys under the age of consent ought to be required to carry a certified copy of their birth certificate with them at all times. Maybe it would calm some of this stuff down. Alas, men have never, in the history of mankind, left young girls alone. This is nothing new folks. It is just the age of communication makes everything immediately accessible from anywhere in the world. It used to not be that way. The number of police getting involved with this stuff to me is at an all-time high as well. Families used to handle this between themselves as long as the girl wasn't pregnant or being brutalized.

When are these men who are 18 and older going to learn to leave these girls alone? Wake up, guys, if she is under 18, it doesn't matter if she is a willing participant or not - if she tells, you get charged with something - how hard is that, fellas? Some of these girls look 18 but aren't. Better quit messing around with them - it's your life that is screwed not hers!! I doubt they're worth it!!!
