NEW YORK (November 1, 2009)--Madisonville State Bank in Madisonville and Citizens National Bank of Teague are among nine banks belonging to a bank holding company in Chicago that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation closed Friday.

The banks’ deposits and most of the assets of the nine subsidiaries of FBOP Corp. were assumed by U.S. Bank, NA, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp, the FDIC said.

The banks, with combined assets of $19.4 billion and deposits of $15.4 billion reopened Saturday as U.S. Bank branches.

Depositors will automatically become U.S. Bank depositors, the FDIC said and the FDIC will continue to insure deposits.

Over the weekend, depositors can access their money by writing checks or using ATMs or debit cards, the FDIC said.

I couldn't agree more with Louise: Switch to a CREDIT UNION...DO YOUR HOMEWORK, LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BANK AND A CREDIT UNION AND YOU WILL APPRECIATE A CREDIT UNION'S PRINCIPLES

You guys were blaming Obama when he had only been in office 1 week. You all gave Bush 8 years to screw everything up and never said a word. If Bush had suspended the Constitution and declared marshal law, all of you would have laid down so the tanks could use you as a road. Nothing more to say on that cause the whining time is over.
