(April 6, 2007)--Three members of a gay rights group have been handcuffed, arrested and charged with trespassing after trying to enter the campus of Bob Jones University.

Other Soulforce activists were stopped and confronted by Bible-quoting protesters outside the conservative Christian school.

The protesters waved signs, including one that read, "Sodomy is sin."

A freshman at Bob Jones said university officials had told students not to interact with the gay rights group, but if they should encounter any members, to act kindly and call school officials.

A Bob Jones University spokeswoman said the school won't grant open forums and discussions to a group that would, in her words, "undermine the clear teachings of Jesus Christ."

Several members of the organization, which is sponsoring cross-country bus rides by two groups of gay rights advocates, were arrested last month at Baylor after refusing a campus police officer’s order to stop chalking messages on a sidewalk.

Baylor didn’t bar the group from campus, but declined to join in a discussion of the university’s policy on sexuality.
