The D A police and gate security officers carry 9MM Glock pistols, they might as well be carrying water guns.Arm them with forties or forty fives.Something with stopping power.

The Fort Hood access control program is a joke. The gate check was working good (not Great) when the contract guards where placed on the gates,B U T people complained about the traffic back up so the standards where lowered. Now days anyone can bring just about anything onto Fort Hood at anytime.Let the gate guards take care of business like they use to and it will help keep the guns, criminals, and creeps off Fort Hood.

To Junor and Mike A. Your are both nuts. I served as a police officer and am now retired. I was not a military dropout or a power hungry guy. Most officers who serve , like the military ,are good people, are there some that abuse their position, yes , but guess what their are those types in every occupation. And until you do it yourself day in and day out you have no right to give an opinion you know nothing about. Get verbally , physically and mentally abused by the citizens you swore to protect day in and day out and lets see how you do. Monday morning quarterbacks!!!

This is directed towards Junor. For your information, most officers that were in the military did their time and received an honorable discharge from the military. They were not dropouts. I wait for the day that you need the Police Department or any law enforcements help and they just can't get there in time. What a sorry individual. You are just as bad as Maj. Hasan. That is just plain ignorance.

It seems as though, for the second time, all or none of my comments have not been printed! The beginning statement was omitted. The continuation was printed. Don't know if they were censored or overlooked. If they don't print it, it is probably just as well. There are plenty that probably wouldn't like what I said anyway!!!

(continued) These officers need to be nationally recognized for their valor and courage! I consider myself a very patriotic American. I'm not so sure about our President! Actually, I personally don't believe he is the man he would like you to think he is!!! Whatever your or my opinion of him is, He needs to step up and address these officers for who THEY are!

"MikeA" must have been in trouble with the law a lot in his life. He obvisouly does not know the many hard working GOOD police officers that fill the ranks. He is wrong when he says that most join because it is a power trip. There are always exceptions to the rule. There are a few bad apples in any bunch. But don't condmen good hard working men and women because you THINK you know why they do what they do. Both Fort Hood Officers are heros for their courage under fire. Given the same cercumstances Most officers would do the same, even for those that don't give them the respect they deserve, like "MikeA".

What is all this talk about foreigners in our military. This man was born in the United States. You know, just being a psychiatrist doesn't guarantee that you won't go crazy yourself. There is still a lot more we need to know before we start saying what did or did not happen and what should happen after that. And yes, I salute Sgt Munley for her courage and swift action. I would hate to have to shoot someone myself, but somebody had to do it this time, and I'm kind of proud it was a woman.

What in the world happened to education in this country? I thought a high school diploma was required for service in the Armed Forces now? Maybe spelling and grammar was taken out of school after I graduated from high school in 1984, but some of the mispellings I saw were scary. As for laying blame on any one thing, it can't be done. Hopefully he recovers enough tobe questioned as to why he did this. Maybe it was because he was Muslim. Maybe he was reacting to going back to a war zone. Maybe he had a weak mind. With his education, it definitely wasn't a lack of intelligence. That's about the only thing we can be sure of here. Officer Munley is a hero. Plain and simple. Male or female. But officers of the law are reviled by many because most of them abuse the power they are given when they swear in as officers. Quite alarge number of them join the police forces as a power trip. I'd say most are still mad about losing their milk money in school to bullies.

Its a relief that they moved that killer out of Bell county.Just the thought of him being in one of our local hospitals sends a chill. How great it is that an officer with the mental and pschyical capablity came to the rescue. Those chunks out there that complain about imposed physical training will never have what it takes to do what this woman did. If she had used a .45 instead, gunman would be in a morgue.

YES, OFFICER MUNLEY AND WHOM EVERYONE FORGETS ABOUT SR SGT TODD ARE BOTH AMERICAN HEROES!!!!!! They both are well trained and the training showed. Both should be given the HIGHEST Civilian/Military award. They I am sure will tell you that they are HEROES but just doing the job they are trained to do. WE as a nation take Law Enforcement OFFICERS as just police, they are LOVED and PRAISED when they help and and HATED when something bad happens. They are human too BUT, as a LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (female)we deal with these types of situations daily just most are not in such a public setting. Maybe now the CITIZENS of this nation might think twice about wanting to JUDGE what Law Enforcement Officers do on a daily bases.. Maybe the CITIZENS of the NATION need to place themselves in the situation Police Officers do and then they just might understand, WE have a split second to make decisions, there is NO time to ponder the thought of what the outcome might bring,WE act and do what we need to
