WACO (November 05, 2009)-In comments on News 10 This Morning, Gov. Rick Perry said he would not visit Fort Hood Friday, instead opting to allow Texas Rangers more time to conduct their investigation.

Governor Rick Perry said he wanted to give Texas Rangers and other investigators the space and time they need to collect evidence and conduct interviews.

A Federal Bureau of Investigation team is also being flown Friday to assist with the investigation, Perry told News 10.

Gov. Perry wrapped up his comments on News 10 by saying he's praying for the soldiers and their families and that Texas and American should be very proud of the bravery that many of the soldiers and first responders showed responding to Thursday’s violent situation.

Maybe Chet will show up and get a good photo op, unlike Gov. Perry

American Supporter that comment is Rude. He is the governor and I think his not interrfearing in the investigation is what he needs to do. He is most likely not a trained investigator and so staying out of the way of those who are is very appropriate. I think the people at Ft.Hood know what they are doing and he probably feels very confident in their abiility to investigate this mess. Lets give our support to them and stay out of their way.

Just shows the persons intelligence(or lack of). This is a Federal Government run Military Base, and the FBI or Secret Service is in control, not the Texas Rangers or DPS, or local Police Department, or Sheriff's Dept. And the Military might 'not' let him in the gate even if he showed up!!
