Reason in Belton. My statement had nothing to do with race. Muslims are NOT a race of people and your an idiot for thinking so. So thank you for showing your muslim idiocy. More muslims will NEVER stand up and speak out about this issue because they know other muslims will KILL them too. But yet they still remain faithful to a religion that condones this murderous behavior. Muslims are no different from nazis. They both believe that if you are not like them then you do not deserve to be alive! If you stray from the belief system you do not deserve to be alive! I say with this kind of intolerant religion you do not deserve to be in America. If you feel different then come out and denounce the koran because it plainly states you are to "smite" anyone who is not muslim. And as soon as you do that you are no longer a muslim. So wake up and find out that God is the only being that has the right to "smite".

I agree with some of the posts that state this is about Muslims. They are the ones who attacked us. To say you are afraid of a backlash and hate, I think WE are the ones who have to worry about you. Last time I checked it wasn't muslims being attacked in America, it is the rest of us. You have to remember there are those who called Hasan a "good American" Well if that is what you call a "good American" then I hate to see what a bad American is capable of. Why would muslims want to enlist in the military, get free education, receive a huge salary and then betray those they swore to defend and protect? We gave him the benefit of the doubt. He is the one who turned on them, not the other way around. This guy should have gotten the boot a long time ago, stripped of everything and sent to his beloved radical muslim friends out of the US. Our country must start right now taking these people's statements as high risk of harming our people and not assume they are "good Americans"

This statement is absurd. There is NO draft into the military. People give up their right to claim "Conscientious Objector" when they enlist VOLUNTARILY in the military!

If a Muslim comes to this Country and becomes an American, they are an AMERICAN. If they were born here, even though they have ancestory ties to a Muslim Country, they are still an AMERICAN. If they insist on being referred to as a Muslim, they need to return, or go to, their Muslim Country-Roots. I have Irish blood in me, among whatever-?, & I was born here. I do not refer to myself as an Irish American. I am an AMERICAN period. I do not pledge alliengence to the Irish Flag but I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands: one nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for ALL. If an American, who refers to themselves as Muslim instead, joins the US Military, it appears to me we have a "conflict of interest" as they have a moral issue of Muslims (not Americans-?) fighting against Muslims & want to be released as a "conscientious objector"- AKA defector-traitor, which was evident 11/6th.(being destroyed from within)

Time and Place- World War 2, European Theater. Participants- white, American Christians of German and Italian ancestry VS. white German Christians and white Italian Christians. The Question- how many murderous rampages were there involving German American Christians or Italian American Christians in American boot camps???

I just want everyone to know that many of the Muslims in the Killeen/ Ft. Hood community are connected to the military in some form. WE and our loved ones have served in wars, deployed or pending deployments. We are AMERICANS. Yet, because of this event, I feel that this is becoming a breeding ground for hate crimes. I understand that everyone is angry, trust me we are angry too. He came in our peaceful Muslim community and betrayed our trust. We were down on our knees praying for our loved ones next to everyone else regardless of their faith

Oh, Hope...I'm not even sure how to respond to your post...other than to say, I consider myself a fairly intelligent person and as much as I rack my brain I can't seem to think of a single reason Hasan could give that would make me say, "Oh, well that makes perfect sense. If you think of it that way, the only choice he had was to go on a killing spree." I mean REALLY? You insinuate that we should give him a break because we don't know what his side of the story is. Hope, can YOU tell me a story he could give you that would make you think what he did was even close to acceptable? I can't imagine any sane person could justify his actions, no matter what the situation.

Muslim, fighting fellow muslims? Give me a break, that has to be the sorriest excuse I've ever heard. If they make changes to the system and allow any muslims to get out just because they don't want to fight fellow muslims, I'll be ashamed of our military. The "muslims" we are at war against are TERRORISTS!!!! not muslims..... give me a break, I've heard it all now.

All Muslins enlist and are not drafted! This is the Volunteer Army there has not been a draft since the end of the Vietnam War. Further these people made a oath to God (whoever that may be) to defend this country. Their reasons for enlisting are their own, but that does not excuse them from participating in what they enlisted. Face Army=possibility of War or in this case War was known going in. Take the religion out of it even Hassan knew that there was the possibility of deployment, and when it came he choose to try and be released from his commission even going as far aas to say that he would repay the money the government spent to train him to be a doctor. It is clear to me that this individual has lied to the government, the people and wordt of all to his God. This Individual should be stripped of his commission, tired and when found guilty given a punishment fitting the crime. PUBLIC EXECUTION!

Hope, really, really? You should be ashamed! I'm sure you wouldn't have the same opinion if it were one of your family members who were killed that day! His side is simple: he didn't like the fact he was to deploy and instead of just killing himself so he didn't have to go, he killed other innocent people. How does he deserve any compassion? That's what we call a coward here in America!

OK, first of all this "person" killed innocent unarmed people, second, IF HE COULD NOT TAKE THE PRESSURE OF THE MILITARY THEN HE SHOULD HAVE PUT ON HIS BIG BOY UNDEROOS ON AND TOLD SOMEONE AND NOT KILLED (AGAIN) INNOCENT UNARMED PEOPLE. I CAN NOT PASS JUDGEMENT ON HIM...I WAS RAISED NOT TO JUDGE...BUT I WILL SAY THIS AND THIS IS THE "HUMAN" SIDE OF ME TALKING...I HOPE THAT WITH EVERY PASSING DAY YOU REALIZE WHAT A COWARD YOU ARE AND THAT YOU HEAR ALL OF THOSE SCREAMS AND PEOPLE PLEEDING FOR THIER LIVES OVER AND OVER AGAIN! I ALSO HOPE THAT YOU THINK EVERY DAY OF THAT MOTHER AND UNBORN CHILD THAT YOU KILLED AND I HOPE THEY HAUNT YOU EVERYDAY! THERE IS NO JUSTICE HERE ON EARTH FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. I HOPE THAT WHEN IT IS ALL SAID AND DONE THAT YOU ARE PUT THROUGH THE EXPRESS LINE FOR THE NEEDLE! YOU ARE A COWARD AND I WILL SPEAK NO MORE OF YOU! TO THE FAMILY'S OF ALL OF THE VICTIMS...MAY GOD BE WITH YOU ALL IN THIS HARD TIME.. GOD BLESS AND BE WITH ALL OF US ALWAYS!

OHMYGOSH...Hope.....you just need to go hide somewhere..how can you even THINK such a thing. I mean really???? I guarantee you would not say a thing like that if you had family or friends that were victims. I agree with "Carrie" from Temple - you are a poor excuse for an AMERICAN or better yet a HUMAN BEING. God Bless these victims/wounded and their family and friends.

I was in the Military the first time we were in Irac, and wouldnt trade my time in the Military for anything, and while we were in Irac, there was a Captain from Ft Hood (who was also a medical Doctor) that claimed he too was a conscientios objector and went on a hunger strike, he was court marshalled and sent to Levenworth, unlike Hasan he hurt no body but himself. That being said Hasan should be court marshalled and then placed in front of a firing squad.
