Obama: “Your Loved Ones Endure…Their Memory Will Be Honored”
An estimated crowd of 15,000 soldiers, family members, officials and residents listened Tuesday afternoon as President Barack Obama told the families of the 13 victims of deadly Fort Hood shooting rampage, “Your loved ones endure through the life of our nation.”

It is sad that you all are making this memorial about your own political views. Lives were lost, and you continue to make this about Republicans and Democrats. Obama is our president and should be respected no matter which side you stand on. Stop being so selfish and come together in this time of loss.

I haven't haeard anyone hailing the president for that speech. It was good at best. Let me also point out that Bryan is still part of the redneck South. What was shown of the "typical Obama can do no wrong" supporters was the disgraceful cheering at a memorial service. So that's lack of manners, disrespect for others, and blindly hanging on to every word with no regards to why they were there. I somehow doubt you would have that problem from anyone in the redneck South that was a Bush supporter. Perry may have agreed but that is because he knows how to act unlike Obama who didn't give a formal mention to the Governor's attendance.

Bush's actions include starting an unnecessary unending war that has cost America in sacred blood of dead & maimed soldiers and great treasure in the trillions; being on vacation two-thirds of his term as president ==no wonder he is so incompetent!; & Bush & his Republicans are responsible for the crash of America's economy while enriching themselves. George W. Bush's legacy in history will be "Miserable Failure!" The only "TRUE" American is anyone who is 100% Native American Indian.

President Obama gave a 15-minute speech honoring the fallen at Ft. Hood that is being hailed as a perfect tribute that struck a balance between commander & consoler, a samll masterpiece that will be remembered & quoted--a speech that makes you proud to be an American. Even Rick Perry approved! Only in the regressive REDNECK SOUTH will you find such haters & hatemongers dishonoring the courageous murdered & wounded Americans as well as President & Commander-in-Chief Obama. Despicable!!!

Obama did good. He kept the politics out of it. Jan- if the Sgt Velez was not far enough along to meet criteria for fetal viability the baby would not be counted as a victim. So by legal standards they can't charge Hasan for the baby. I understand what you are saying, but by law as it is now they can't include the baby. I do have a question... should the jury for the shooter give life imprisonment or death penalty?

Hey Big D...I feel sorry for you whether your a man or a woman..."the total purpose of sex is to reproduce"?? Are you that boring? It was given by God as a wonderful special thing to be enjoyed by husband and wife to it's fullest. It's not just about making babies. It's about sharing a special gift between two people. I feel sorry for your spouse, if you are even married or in a relationship!

I noticed the President wore the flag pin which I have never noticed him do before. Also I heard him address everyone except Governor Perry. Did anyone notice or did I miss that? That stuck out. The speech was very moving he gave but honestly the commanders speech was so very heartfelt I cried. It came from the heart from those men. One thing I was most proud of and that was the prayers to our God, singing Amazing Grace and the mention of Isaiah's words. Thank you for including our Lord yesterday. A beautiful dedication to those who lost their lives.

OMgosh!~ Pro Life, Pro choice and whom ever else.. Why are we making the death of this pregant woman a political view? Really???? The girl died 3 months prego and she had every intent of keeping her baby. Please tell me why you guys are even making her baby a protest against each other rather than coming together and praying for this families two loses. WOW!!!! I hope Ms. Velez and her baby rest in peace. I will continue to pray that her family will get through this together and stay stong for one another.

For Pro-Choice, whether its one day or 9 months, a baby is a baby and needing its parents responsible decision making to help it survive and grow. And the parents did have a choice, whether to have sex or not. The total purpose of sex is to reproduce, but too many people forget that and use it for entertainment. I was also have to give credit to President Obama for keeping politics out of his speech yesterday as this was a time of mourning and honor for our losses. I could not attend the ceremony due to physical limitations but i followed it all i could. All I have to say is that this is the greatest country in the world, and the reaction and support of the individuals, communities, business and government show why.

The President was where he was supposed to be yesterday and that place was Fort Hood. The President of the United States is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Of course, he can return a salute. With due respect to the deceased and wounded, some of you guys need to sign up for a course in U.S. Government. The Constitution makes the President the Commander-in-Chief to retain civilian control of the Armed Forces. The intent of our founding fathers was to ensure there were no successful military coups to take over the Government. Take up the death toll with the Army. They are the ones who did the counting. But at least give our fallen and wounded soldiers some peace today of all days.

Many of us are very happy that the commander and chief came to Fort Hood. Why can't people stop being judgemental. I am sure that the President was only thinking of those that were killed, not about your political views.
