ORLANDO, Fla. (November 10, 2009)--Former astronaut Lisa Nowak pleaded guilty Tuesday to burglary and battery in attack on romantic rival.

The plea came after her attorneys discussed the possibility of a plea deal with prosecutors during a court appearance in Orlando, Fla. that focused on whether Nowak would accept or reject the plea offer.

Nowak, a Navy captain, was accused of confronting Colleen Shipman in the parking lot of Orlando International Airport in February 2007 after driving from Houston.

Shipman had started dating Nowak's love interest, former space shuttle pilot Bill Oefelein.

She was set to go on trial next month on charges of attempted kidnapping, burglary and battery with assault.
