Two Central Texas middle school students have a way with words, and wooden tiles.
Champion wordsmiths Austin Bradley and Coleman Tekell don't just dabble in scrabble. The Texas state champs placed 14th out of 106 teams from across the US in a nationwide school-Scrabble tournament.
The one-day contest featured teams of two facing of in a series of six 44 minute games. Bradley and Tekell not only placed 14th overall, they brought home another award for the highest scoring play of the day.
"It was very exciting," Bradley said. " We worked out way up through playing very tough opponents."
And they made it look E-A-S-Y.
"It's a lot harder than it looks," Bradley said.
So Tekell offered us a tip.
"You have to know your two letter words. They are 96 two letter words," he said.
Probably easier said than done.
