CHICAGO (November 11, 2009)—Fort Hood civilian police Sgt. Kimberly Munley said Wednesday she remembers being shot during the rampage at Fort Hood and says she never lost consciousness during the shootings.

Munley was one of two civilian police officers who confronted Maj. Nidal Milak Hasan, the gunman accused of killing 13 people and injuring 29 others last Thursday.

Munley and the other officer, Sgt. Mark Todd, appeared on Wednesday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

Munley, 34, said she was washing her patrol car at the end of her shift when a call reporting the shootings came in.

She described the shootings as "confusing and chaotic" and says being shot felt like "a muscle being torn out of my leg."

Todd said it was the first time in his career that he used his weapon.

He fired the shots that brought Hasan down, and then handcuffed the Army psychiatrist, ending the worst shooting spree in history on a U.S. military base.

Todd was not wounded.

Munley said it will be a slow process to get back to her normal life, but she knows she can do it.

She remains in Metroplex Hospital in Killeen.

Hargrove from "San Diego"? And you know what about this whole thing? Hell guy you can't even spell "lone" Maybe before commenting on things you have no clue about you should do some background research. She was not on "loan", and she also was not the "lone" hero, everyone here knows that.

I am pretty sure that Ft. Hood will make sure that both officers get the right recognition. They both moved to the scene of the shooting and took action. That is what counts.
