Attorney Who Represents Accused Fort Hood Gunman Receives Threats
The retired military attorney who now represents accused Fort Hood gunman Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan said Wednesday he has received several threats since agreeing to meet with Hasan Monday.

It wouldnt matter if the attorney made his name known or not. That is a matter of public record and would be in the media shortly anyway.

He didnt step up to help an evil person. He stepped up because our country is founded on the idea that EVERYONE is entitled to a fair trail with adequate representation. We cant give up fundamental rights because its the easier choice. If thats the case, its only a matter of time before we have no liberties. And really, a retired soldier representing him just means that he cant come back later and argue that he did not have effective counsel.

So did 'they' make threats against the doctors and nurses and health care professionals that saved his life? Get real folks. No matter what the crime (and I for one think this was an act of terrorism on our own soil), under the laws of this great nation, everyone, EVERYONE, is entitled to a competent defense. Mr. Galligan probably did not go looking for this case - probably was assigned to him due to his military background. And anonymous - some day you will probably require the services of these so-called 'bottom-feeders'. Good luck with that!

By the time this is all said and done they will have this murderer painted as a hero. With all the poor me's that are already out there floating around about this guy, we will all wish he was killed . Lets just hope this Lawer is a lousy one...

This man will not get executed because he will be in military court!!! Look up the last time they executed anyone on death row there!!! He will get off easy watch. Hopefully someone will get to that terrorist before he sits in military jail for yrs!!!

I would not want this attorney's job. Hasan is afforded legal counsel and a fair trial under our constitution. This attorney has a long road ahead of him, along with his military counterpart. Unfortunately due to the unpopularity of the person they are representing, threats and haraassment are going to be a part of thier lives. I have confidence in the military court system and believe without a doubt that Hasan will be convicted and given the death sentence (although it may never be carried out). He will be found guilty. So, give this murderer his day in court.

Oh cmon Drama Queens. The people who did this are completely off thier rocker but they are NOT as bad as the shooter. They should get charged with terroristic (not terrorists) threats. They are only "as bad" as the shooter if thier Dumb%^&*'s carry them out. I dont think anyone needs to be threatening this lawyer, he is only trying to do his job.......publicity...

Nobody will ever know what the accused has endored being a mislim in the army. Whose to say he didnt just snap after being harrassed so many times. We need to sit back and let the lawyer do his job to make sure this man gets a fair trial. He will get was he deserves under the court of law. Remember no matter the crime we are still in america and that means he has the right to a fair trial. My heart goes out to everyone who is suffering but god teaches us understanding and forgiveness and now is the time to start.

Boo freakin hoo! I don't condone anyone making threats to him but come on...your really going to whine to the press that you got death threats, that was kind of a given when you took the case. As I said the other day I still think your a tool for taking it being that you are a retired military officer. He could have gotten another attorney and you could have show you have morals.

Anyone is entitled to an attorney and fair trial in the criminal justice system of our country even Maj Hasan. Give his attorney a break and stop threatening and harrassing him and let him do his job!
