FORT WORTH (November 15, 2009)—A Texas woman who’s already accused in the death of her 17-month-old son who was left in a hot car while she was at work has been indicted on a felony murder charge, prosecutors said.

Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney Kimberly D'avignon said the Tarrant County grand jury indicted Keashia Dyon Matthews, 37, of Arlington, in the Sept. 3 death of Darrell Singleton
III.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that before the indictment, Matthews had already been charged with abandoning a child causing imminent danger, which is a second-degree felony.

D'avignon said Matthews could face a term of as much as life in prison if convicted on the murder charge.

Matthews remains free on a $13,000 bond, authorities said.
