Central Texas Woman Dies In Fiery Early-Morning Crash Sunday
A 28-year-old Central Texas woman died early Sunday in a fiery crash that left a 26-year-old Killeen man severely burned and two other people with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.

KILLEEN (November 15, 2009)—A fiery crash between a 2003 Jeep Wrangler and a 1993 Buick Regal left a 28-year-old Central Texas woman dead and a 26-year-old Killeen man severely burned early Sunday morning in Killeen.
Police identified the dead woman as Beverly Leeann Baker of Round Rock.
She was a passenger in the Jeep, which the Killeen man was driving north in the southbound lanes of Highway 195 just before 3 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The man driving the Jeep, whose name wasn’t immediately released, swerved to miss a southbound vehicle.
The Jeep then struck the front right portion of the Buick, which was following the first vehicle, rolled and burst into flames, police said.
Baker was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy was ordered.
The driver of the Jeep was flown to Scott & White Hospital in Temple and will be transferred to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, police said.
The 38-year-old driver of the Buick, who’s from Austin and a 30-year-old rear seat passenger, who’s from Georgetown, were taken to Scott & White Hospital in Hospital.
Their injuries were not life threatening, police said.
