FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (November 16, 2009)—The body of a missing 5-year-old North Carolina girl was recovered Monday in a wooded area near Sanford, N.C., Fayetteville, N.C. police said.
Fayetteville police said earlier Monday officers were searching the wooded area based on "reliable information" that indicates the body of Shaniya Davis may have been dumped there.
Police had hoped they would find Shaniya alive.
The girl’s mother, who’s accused of offering her daughter for prostitution, was due to appear in court Monday.
Police arrested Antoinette Davis, 25, Saturday and charged her with human trafficking, felony child abuse involving prostitution and filing a false police report.
A short time after she reported Shaniya missing, a surveillance camera recorded a man carrying the girl into a hotel room at a Comfort Suites in Sanford, about 30 miles away.
Police say that man, Mario Andrette McNeill, 29, is charged in the girl's kidnapping, but said he didn’t know where the girl was.

Time to bring back "swift and sure" death sentence. I don't want MY tax dollars paying for them to have 3 hots and a cot for years and years. Just line em up and shoot em. I'll pay for the bullets!
Yep. Been saying that for years. Death penalty automatically for Child molesters, murderers and rapists.
This is such a sad and sickening story!! This beautiful little girl is with God now in a beautiful place where nobody else can ever harm her. As for the man and the woman she had to call "Mommy" I hope that they both get the death sentence and get it FAST!!!
