BROWNSVILLE (November 17,, 2009)--A 19-year-old Brownsville man was in custody Tuesday after police say he went door-to-door trying to sell marijuana.
The man’s scheme went awry when he knocked on the door of a police officer’s apartment, Brownsville Police Department spokesman Jimmy Manrrique said.
Manrrique said the man appeared to be intoxicated and had three ounces of pot with him last Thursday when he knocked on the door of the off-duty officer’s apartment near the campus of the University of Texas-Texas Southmost College.
The officer "said he would be right back and went to get his badge and handcuffs,” Manrrique said.
The officer’s name was not released.
Police identified the man in custody as Anthony Carrazco, 19.
He was in the Cameron County Jail Tuesday in lieu of bonds totaling $10,000.
