WACO (November 18, 2009)—An SUV struck a 16-year-old Waco High School student Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of New Road and Bosque Boulevard.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the accident just after 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The first fire crew on the scene reported that the teenager was lying in the roadway and that traffic had backed up.

The driver of the Chevy Trailblazer that struck the teenager was reportedly pulling out of the parking lot of the Walgreens store when the SUV struck the teenager, who suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
