Waco School Locked Down After Man With Gun Spotted Nearby
A Waco elementary school was locked down briefly Thursday after a teacher spotted a man with a gun nearby.

WACO (November 19, 2009)—Waco’s Cedar Ridge Elementary School at 2115 Meridian Ave. was locked down briefly Thursday morning after a teacher saw two men fighting near the school, one of whom had a gun.

WISD and Waco police responded to the report Thursday morning.

The lockdown was lifted about 20 minutes later,

The teacher, who travels between schools, said she saw a man in a gold car chasing another man.

The man in the car, got out, and pushed the second man to the ground about a block from the school.

She told police she thought the first man had a gun.

Police searched the area, but found no sign of either man or a gun.

The school’s principal said the response was routine and said the incident was one for which the school practices.

Sounds like a teacher that IS ON TOP of things, I would rather have her there, then a teacher who does not care enough to look around.

Sounds to me like some teacher got the "vapors" (as the old timers used to call a silly woman who was hysterical) and started a panic over nothing.
