(April 19, 2007)—A campus memorial service is scheduled Thursday for Baylor University senior Charles “Court” Franklin, who died last Friday in what evidently was an accidental shooting.

The service will be at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Paul Powell Chapel at Baylor’s Truett Seminary.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Franklin’s hometown of Ruidoso, N.M.

The 23-year-old mechanical engineering major died of what police said was a self-inflicted gunshot wound early last Firday morning at an off-campus party in a house in the 2400 block of South 2nd Street.

McLennan County Justice of the Peace E. Jean Laster pronounced Franklin dead and ordered an autopsy.
