WASHINGTON (November 23, 2009)—A Department of Defense review of personnel, health and other policies ordered after the deadly Nov. 5 shooting rampage at Fort Hood will be completed by Jan. 15, the Pentagon said Monday.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced the review last week, and named two former senior Pentagon officials to head it.
Gates was meeting with those officials on Monday, and the review team was expected to visit Fort Hood soon.
The Pentagon said the review would look into whether there are weaknesses in Defense Department policies that could leave other soldiers vulnerable.
The review also will look at how the Army handled the case of accused shooter Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who is accused of opening fire on fellow soldiers and killing 13 people at the Texas post.
Just three of the 29 people injured in the shooting were still in hospitals Monday.
Two were in stable condition and the third was in fair condition, Fort Hood said.

"The Pentagon said the review would look into whether there are weaknesses in Defense Department policies that could leave other soldiers vulnerable." The only weakness here is the fear of offending muslims and islam! Political correctness is more important than protecting our soldiers and civilians as well!
Why Dallas? will it make a difference? Really? I think Not.
I can't wait to see the results.
