(May 4, 2007)--Police in New Hampshire say a college student shot and wounded his roommate overnight in an off-campus apartment, and then killed himself as police tried to enter his bedroom.
Police got a call a little after midnight from a man who said he'd been shot in an apartment near the Keene State College campus.
That man is hospitalized in fair condition.
Police say they entered the apartment and talked to the alleged shooter, 20-year-old Michael Dyke, who was in the bedroom.
According to a prosecutor, when police tried to enter the bedroom, Dyke killed himself.
Authorities say a third roommate is cooperating with police.
They describe it as an isolated "incident among roommates."
The president of the college says Dyke had no criminal record, and no apparent mental health problems.
The shooting occurred on the last day of finals, and two days before graduation.
Many students had already left campus.
