(June 3, 2007)--The father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby has countersued his former attorney, claiming she defrauded him out of hundreds of thousands of dollars while representing him during his high-profile paternity suit earlier this year.
In April, paternity tests revealed that Larry Birkhead was the father of Dannielynn Hope, Smith's child.
Birkhead was sued by his former attorney in late May.
Debra Opri says Birkhead didn't pay his legal bills while she represented him in the paternity dispute over the child, Dannielynn Hope.
Opri says the work she did for Birkhead was "extensive, entailed hundreds of hours of work" and required her to travel to multiple states and outside the country.
The suit, however, doesn't specify a dollar amount.
Opri wants to force binding arbitration under the terms of the contract she signed with Birkhead last September.
Smith, a one-time Mexia resident, died in February of an accidental prescription drug overdose.
