PORT MANSFIELD (December 13, 2009)--Crews recovered the body of a man Sunday they believe to have been the pilot of a plane that crashed into the Laguna Madre.

Willacy County Sheriff Larry Spence said searchers recovered the body of Harvey Kinikin, 39, at about 2 p.m. Sunday near the crash site.

The Amarillo man was at the controls of a twin-engine Piper PA-30 when it went down Thursday night near the South Texas fishing community of Port Mansfield.

The body of the other man aboard the plane, Robert James Robinett, 48, of Sunray, was found in the water Friday.

The aircraft left the Texas Panhandle town of Borger Thursday evening and was headed for Port Mansfield about 45 miles north of Brownsville when it went down.
