KILLEEN (December 18, 2009) - For sale signs are disappearing much quicker in Killeen this November than last. That's according to new numbers released by the Fort Hood Area Association of Realtors.
It reports that 147 homes were sold in November 2008. That was the lowest amount for the entire year.
This past November 261 homes were sold. That's an increase of 77 percent. The foreclosure rate has also fallen slightly from 12% to 10% since November 2008.
Local realtors say in addition to Killeen's soldier population, which often changes, the President's first time home buyer's $8,000 tax credit also played a big role.
