HARKER HEIGHTS (December 29, 2009)--The Whataburger restaurant in Harker Heights has a new drive-through after a car crashed into the building just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The restaurant is at 130 Central Texas Expressway.

Harker Heights police officers said a woman pulled up to the front of the store and while trying to park her Toyota Camry, her foot slipped from the brake to the accelerator and the car rammed through the front door of the building.

She was not hurt.

Police would not say if there were customers inside the building at the time of the accident, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.

A News 10 reporter at the scene said damage to the front door and the façade of the business was significant.

Harker Heights police and fire units responded to the scene and were busy cleaning up debris just before noon Tuesday.

Jeff, the 'old people' you refer to are probably safest drivers on the streets, it is young kids that make it dangerous to be around them because most get ticked off when the older people 'accelerate to slowly'. The insurance will cover all Wataburger's repairs as well as any business lost during downtime. If she had full coverage, they will probably cover her costs as well. In reference to driving with both feet. If anyone here has driven a standard, as i do, you would understand that you have to be able to depress the clutch and the brake at the same time. As well as let off the clutch and the depress the gas at the same time sometimes. Lets be thankful that no one was hurt and not point the blame at anyone. Not women with high heels, not women in flats, not men in boots, nor old men or women.
